The story of FIVE FOR FREEDOM: The African American Soldiers in John Brown’s Army comes to the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County, Md. library at noon on March 20, as part of its Lunch and Learn program.  I’ll be telling the story of these five brave men in the land of Frederick Douglass, who inspired them and Brown to attempt to incite a slave insurrection by raiding the federal arsenal town of Harpers Ferry in October 1859.  This will be a free, in-person event.
