From West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle (Jefferson County) to its Northern Panhandle (Ohio County), come FIVE FOR FREEDOM: The African American Soldiers in John Brown’s Army.  I look forward to telling the story to “Lunch with Books” at the Ohio County Public Library, in Wheeling, W. Va.   Wheeling is across the Ohio River from Belmont County, Ohio, where Henry Newby, of Culpeper County, Va., brought his enslaved wife and their children in 1858.  Their oldest of 11 was Dangerfield Newby, one of the FIVE FOR FREEDOM.
