The Washington Independent Review of Books is a mostly volunteer nonprofit online book review that came into being more than nine years ago following the demise of the Washington Post’s standalone Book World section. I’m honored to be a board member.  Due to the coronavirus, we had to cancel our annual conference, our largest source of revenue, this spring.  Like many, we are on hard time, but the work we do and our contribution to keeping books alive are priceless.  Please visit our website at www.wirobooks.com/ To make sure that our work can continue, we are holding this unique socially-distanced but vitally important fundraising effort.
